The I-5 Corridor progress report
A look behind the curtain as we barrel through our second month — and a weekend programming note
Hey all,
I want to thank everyone again for making this a special first month of The I-5 Corridor. I also want pull back the curtain a bit on how things are progressing in our second month.
A few numbers:
39: Days since The I-5 Corridor launched
160: Paid subscribers
439: Free subscribers
6,598: Unique visitors
3,545: Podcast downloads
Most read free story: Ahmad Rashad might have been too good at this broadcasting thing

Most listened to free podcast: Episode 1: Welcome to The I-5 Corridor
Most listened to premium podcast: Episode 8: Fresh hops and baseball with Corey Brock
It’s certainly taken some time to find a groove writing, editing, recording, producing and promoting, and it’s definitely still a work in progress. But we’re gaining momentum and I’m really encouraged by the progress.
I’d also really like some feedback. What have you liked? What’s not working for you? What do you want more of? You can reply to this email or let me know in the comments.
Again, we’re 39 days old. This place is going to evolve and it’s motivating the heck out of me.
A programming note: I’m officiating my friends’ wedding this weekend in Wisconsin. And while fall weddings and sports writers don’t really mix, Jordan and Amy are two special people who have had their date delayed multiple times over the last two years. I wouldn’t miss it for the world.
So yes, live Stanford coverage is going to be a bit light this weekend. That being said, the DVR is set and we have a very solid lineup for next week.
Here’s the tentative schedule:
Tuesday: A profile of Oregon defensive back Bennett Williams (Premium)
Wednesday: The I-5 Corridor podcast with Aidan Schneider (Free)
Thursday: The I-5 Corridor Mailbag (Premium)
And lastly: Jordan, the groom, is the goalie for our Portland-based travel hockey team, The Little Cuties. When I worked for The Athletic, he had a couple of saves that went viral for weeks with social accounts from ESPN, TSN, Spittin’ Chiclets and others sharing it so many times we had to get him a new bucket to fit his head into.
“So when is The Athletic going to do a big profile on me?”
Well, I kinda screwed that one up for him. But I figure sharing some of those clips here will at least save me a few bucks on a wedding present.
Enjoy the weekend everyone.
