The I-5 Corridor talked with Josh Wilcox about the new award Oregon is giving out in memory of his late father.
About maybe 20 years ago I ewas standing under the east scoreboard and I saw Dave Wilcox standing alone near me. I approached him and thanked him for all the good he did for the Ducks. He was very cordial and kindly thanked me for my comments. I was and am very impressed by him. I'm pleased that the Wilcox family has accepted Lanning.
Thanks so much for this Tyson. It’s great to hear from Josh and what that moment meant on the field. It was delicate, but potent. Glad I got to be there for it too.
Thanks for article about an awesome player/person!
Sounds like he was a wonderful father, a good teammate and more importantly a good person. I believe Coach Lanning will pick a player for this special award who exemplifies everything Dave was. Wonderful article Tyson.
Love your special focus pieces.
