Home-and-Home is a regular conversation between Christian Caple of On Montlake and Tyson Alger of The I-5 Corridor. With more than two decades of combined experience covering football in the Northwest, join On Montlake and The I-5 Corridor for their unique views on the Ducks, Huskies and Pac-12 football.

ALGER: Caple. We meet again.

At the time I figured we were jinxing ourselves back on Sept. 20 when we titled the first Home-and-Home of the season: “Ducks, Huskies on collision course for battle of unbeatens.” The Ducks still had to get through Colorado (42-6) and Stanford (42-6). The Huskies still had Cal (59-32) and Arizona (31-24).

But they got there, then they put on a show. In the six weeks since, nothing has swayed me from my initial viewpoint that Oregon/Washington was one of the best football games I’ve covered, featuring two playoff-caliber teams.

So, explain to me this:

How in the world are the Ducks 9.5-point favorites heading into the rematch in Las Vegas?
