EUGENE — Oregon Ducks fall camp had been on cruise control. 

With the Ducks riding on a preseason high of expectations, the first two weeks of practice saw the No. 3 team in the country check the needed boxes. 

The quarterbacks were adapting. 

The new players were jelling. 

The physicality was where it needed to be. 

It was all systems go for an Oregon team preparing for its first real crack at a national championship in a decade.

Adversity has reared its head, however.
