Instead, Oregon’s third-year head coach steamed his way through questions about his offensive line, his team’s inability to convert in key situations and general bewilderment over how such a lopsided matchup ended with the No. 3 Ducks needing a fourth-quarter surge to avoid disaster.
“Every game we look for an opportunity to grow,” Lanning told reporters after Oregon’s 24-14 win. “And we certainly left this game with opportunities to grow.”
That’s one way of looking at it.
