Pumpkin Ridge and the LIV Golf Fyre Fest
Months since its announcement, the masses still seem unhappy about the golf course's upcoming hosting of the Saudi-backed golf league.
Are they trying to make this look like a cheap Nike ad?
I can’t quite tell, but I’ve been seeing it on all my screens lately. It’s for the new Saudi-backed golf league, which lands in Oregon later this month at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Course.
It’s “GOLF, BUT LOUDER,” the colorful ad reads before whisking you away with a link for tickets that start at $70. The good news is that LIV promises a “supercharged fan experience” over 54 holes of golf with big stars, shotgun starts and team play. The bad news — in addition to many, many other things — is that currently those players are named Fill in the Blank and To be Named Later.
Seriously, the tournament is less than a month away and LIV has yet to announce the golfers patrons are shelling out to see. Maybe it’s Phil Mickelson, or Sergio Garcia or Lee Westwood. Maybe it’s none of those guys. But make sure you buy today!
If the whole thing sounds a bit like the Fyre Fest, don’t worry, there’s still plenty of time. Heck, LIV hasn’t even announced its field for the opening tournament next week in London.
