Thanks for this. Ted Miller was not only a great voice for the Pac-12, but a great voice for all of college football. He is greatly missed. But good for him for living his best life even if it isn't the one he initially set out to live.

I am so glad you got Miller to do this. I've wondered what he was doing - and I certainly miss his voice during football season.

Well done as always.

Great work Tyson. Ted Miller was one of my favorite writers in that time because he was so level on his writing.

BTW, when you're ready you should share some of your early memories of your beginning at the O and then after.

This was awesome. Back when ESPN used to put out great content. I remember the weekly chats (I think Chantel Jennings and Kevin.... Gammell?) and the weekly mailbag. Used to look forward to those. And yes...I remember the Reggie Bush stories. Such a bullshit outcome (I say this as a Duck fan).

Love this! What a great article. I lived in sec country for years, and only oregon uw has the hatred of the sec rivalries. Nothing like autzen stadium booing the uw band and cheerleaders when the enter. Glad this rivalry will continue.

This is great work. I love it! And, as someone who is both a Duck and a Husky, I couldn't agree more that this really is the best Pac-12 rivalry!

I miss Ted and that version of ESPN so much.

Ted Miller was Tyson Alger many years ago, the best football journalist. Initially, Ted's absence left an incredible void in quality journalism covering West Coast football. I'm very happy that his life is so good away from the chaos. Tyson your work is appreciated. However, use whatever words of advice from Ted to maintain your sanity.Go Ducks!

Such a great article. Since Ted Miller left ESPN that was the about the beginning of me not going to that website. Ted was one of the best…Blaine Newnam, Steve Kelly, the guy before Blaine at the Register Guard (???). All great ones.

I know I sound old (56) but on a national level in terms of CF two people I miss every weekend are Ted Miller and Keith Jackson.

I also liked the woman Ted worked with on the blog…Chantel Jennings (???)… Geat read Tyler!!!

Such a great interview. When Ted got cut at ESPN I was so bitter for years. Then The Athletic came through and I was filled with hope; crushed again (sorry Tyson), but still hopeful for some legit PAC-12 coverage. I’ll keep reading and subscribing Tyson, give a 42 year old guy a tip of the cap to Ted Miller (actually I think we’re Facebook friends) and a big thanks for all the writing he did. I’d write more but it’d get a bit too sappy.
