The football is slowing down for Oregon speedsters Devon Jackson and Rodrick Pleasant
“It really doesn't matter how fast you run if you're not running in the right direction."
EUGENE — Devon Jackson is fast, that’s no secret.
Despite the linebacker’s 6-foot-2, 230-pound frame, the sophomore is often touted as one of the speediest players on Oregon’s roster, a fact backed by titles in the 100 and 200 meters at the Nebraska high school state championships.
The tough thing about being that fast — especially when you’re that much faster than people in high school — is there’s always a bit of a comedown when the talent pool deepens on a college roster.
Jackson’s still faster than most, he’s just not leaving everyone in the dust.
