The I-5 10: Jestin Jacobs is wasting no time living his Oregon dream
The former Iowa linebacker is next up in our series of the new faces of football in Oregon.
EUGENE — New Oregon inside linebacker Jestin Jacobs wore a big smile as he told stories about finally joining his dream school back in April.
Eugene has always been it, said Jacobs, a former high school All-American from Englewood, Ohio., who found himself enamored with the play of Marcus Mariota and “The Mamba” — De’Anthony Thomas.
“This is my dream,” Jacobs said. “I’m not going to go out there and take it for granted. You’re not going to see me loaf.”
His dad has been there to make sure of it. The Ducks were just a few weeks into spring ball when Dad called for his first progress report.
“How are things going?”
“Good,” the redshirt junior replied.
“Can’t be too good, haven’t seen any linebackers transfer out yet.”
