Happy Monday, all. Let’s kick the afternoon off with a few thoughts on Bo Nix’s return for the Fiesta Bowl, the opening of the transfer portal and the overtime hoops win over Michigan.

Bo’s Back

Hey, Bo Nix said something, then Bo Nix did something that backed up what he said.

While the Oregon quarterback was bested on the field twice this season, there haven’t been many players who have felt as genuine in the spotlight as the two-year Oregon quarterback. So when he got momentarily frustrated with a question about his Oregon future after Friday’s loss to Washington in the Pac-12 Championship game, maybe it’s now easier to understand why he said he had “no idea” about his future with the Ducks and that there were a lot of things to consider.

He was telling the truth. Because who had Nix coming back to play in the bowl game after it was announced that the Ducks would be playing Liberty? Not to disparage Liberty — Bill Oram over at The O has that covered this week — but when Oregon’s Fiesta Bowl opponent was announced, I figured one of my last images of the quarterback would be him walking out of his press conference, greeting Michael Penix Jr. outside the door and playfully squeezing the ribs of his playoff-bound rival.

“I don’t know why everyone keeps thinking I’m hurt,” Penix told Nix, before Nix patted him on the back, hopped into a golf cart and rode off.
