And while Sugar Ray’s When it’s Over reached No. 13 on the U.S. Billboard charts in 2001 and served as a precursor to McGrath’s acting success in works of cinema such as Joe Dirt 2 and Sharknado 3, few could understand the weight those words would carry here 22 years after they first blessed the airwaves.
