Agreed. Grabavoy says to expect some moves to happen in the coming weeks, but we'll see until then.
FWIW -- and not that you should be hanging your expectations on the health of a 39-year-old -- but Neville said Chara came into camp and exceeded all of his baseline fitness evaluations from last year.
It was obvious the fire that Velde plays with seeing him last year. Hopefully this carries over to his teammates who seemed a little casual at times.
Im also interested in how Rodriguez and Antony handled the off season. There has been a lot of hype around the designated players, and its obvious that they are talented. But we've only seen glimpses. Hopefully that changes this season.
"We’re in a place with Jonathan where it’s going to be very difficult for us to continue on. We’ve had conversations with both him and MLS in terms of the future and what that looks like for later this year or even for 2027 when he doesn’t have a contract. We’ve got a great relationship with Johnathan. There’s a lot that has to happen in the next two or three weeks. But as it does, I know there’ll still be a connection and the future will be very much how his recovery goes and then, ultimately, where we’re at as a club — but most likely for 2027 and beyond.
Very sorry to see Ayala leave. I love Chara but it is clear that he is not as effective as he used to be so losing Ayala really hurts.

From Grabavoy yesterday on Rodriguez:
