Life has been crazy so I just got around to listening to this. Thanks Justin for mentioning Dante Rosario. After graduating from Oregon, Dante volunteered his time during the summer at a football camp in McMinnville. The camp was put on by the See Ya Later Foundation, which I have volunteered for too. Dante brought J Stew & Jason Williams to help. These guys were so good with the kids. They spent a week teaching them. I still have a signed photo from Jonathan 💚💛 This team was fun to watch! We weren’t at the Oklahoma game but we tried to make it down to see Dante play as much as we could. My hubby graduated from Dayton & played for Dewey so he was pretty proud of Dante. Keep up the great work guys, these replayables are fun.
I was in the student section for the Oklahoma game in 2006, and I will remain convinced to the day I die we got that onside kick clean. I know the replays exist, but that memory of watching in the stadium is too strong.
I would love to say I was one of the many rushing the field, but stupid young me’s first instinct was “that was amazing, we need to get back early to start drinking.”
Absolutely right that the mid-2000 era was a weird combo of huge wins in 7- and 8-win seasons. Also the diamond plate era was extremely variable by color - the all-white Stormtrooper look we rolled out @ UW in 2007 looked great, too many of the ones with yellow did not. I still have the 2005 Civil War 96 Ngata jersey, which was THE first game they wore the diamond plates (the Fog Bowl, ~45 minute mark here: https://youtu.be/rPN3BXtI7qs)
Thinking hoops for next month. Maybe something from that Oregon Final Four run?
Thank you!!
2017 Sweet Sixteen vs. Michigan
2007 vs. UCLA
2002 Sweet Sixteen vs. Texas
