Thanks for being part of the launch of The I-5 Corridor.
We have a really fun story in the works for later in the week, but in the meantime let’s get things rolling in the vainest way possible: a mailbag. It’s been a while since I’ve written one, they’re fun and heck, kickoff is next week. There’s got to be some questions. In fact, shout out to Adam, Jordan and Cyrus for getting theirs in early.
If you’re not familiar: Ask any questions about anything Oregon in the comments below, I’ll pick my favorites and answer them in a column later this week.
Questions can be asked by both free and paid subscribers, though the column will be available to subscribers only.
Hey Tyson - Good see you up and running, your stories are always well thought, well written and well done. Looking forward to this season and seeing what ya got, hopefully a Husky fan is welcome. Scott from Palmer.....
Cyrus from Brooklyn, but Denver is my home (for now). What inspired you to leave The Athletic and blaze your own path to create The I-5 Corridor? Have you always wanted a place for your content to be somewhere you could call your own or did the journalism industry lead you to look for other alternatives?
I'm thrilled for this new venture! You and Andrew used to be my favorite writers and I loved your work with the Athletic.
I have a question that Aiden's might be able to respond to as well, if possible. Recently Oregon's best kickers have been walk-ons. Why do you think Oregon has struggled so much to recruit a scholarship kicker, and likewise why have they been able to find success with walk-ons?
Which UO/OSU athletes would have been the biggest NIL earners of all time? I think a lot of folks would assume Mariota or Ionescu for the Ducks, but I don't think you would have been able to cut to a commercial break during games without seeing Troy Dye.
Tyson, this is a little bit of a stretch but … given your hockey background and as someone who would like to follow the Kraken, what should I be paying attention to when watching these games as someone with VERY little knowledge of the game? How can I easily educate myself on what I’m watching? Thanks!
Hey Tyson! Adam from Anchorage, AK here. What are you seeing as far as the offensive lines' makeup this season? Is it looking to be majorly different from 2020? Or will it look pretty similar?
Welcome everyone!

With all this talk about conference alignment with the ACC, Big Ten, and Pac 12, what do you think is the short, medium, and long-term implications?

Adam! Way to kick off the mailbag here. Thanks for coming along.
Always! Gotta support a fellow Alaskan, especially when they're covering the Ducks!
